Nothing I love more than discovering a new artist and new music. R&B has always been my kryptonite. I value the genre greatly and hold it in high regard. Thank God for all the legends that upheld, the genre and composed the greatest hits of all time. It is by far my favourite genre.
You may be thinking, soppy love songs? heart break ballads ?
There is more to R&B, then this. Mostly importantly you can hear the passion and love portrayed in every song all the way through to the composition.
R&B is the closest point to the reality of love that there is. It can really make a moment special.
Lately……….it’s been extremely hard to relate to some of the new r&b artists of this generation, so when I find a new artist that I love and appreciate, then you know that this artist is a rising star.
Introducing Tone Stitch
Born Antonio Stith, the 22-year-old dropped his debut album Can We Talk on July 13 with “Get It Right” serving as the lead single. the project consists of a total of 11 songs. Each song, having its own unique story, and vibe for any mood that you may be in. I would recommend that everyone takes the time to listen to every song on the album. Smith, is very talented. I’m not sure if I’m being bias as he is coached and Co signed by one of my favourite artists of all time Drizzy.
The fact Tone is being coached by Drake ahead of his tour comes as no surprise. The pair have an obvious connection through Jas and have worked together in the past. Last summer, he performed on a few dates of PARTYNEXTDOOR’s Summer’s Over Tour. He is one to watch out for. My top 3 favourite songs on the album have to be
1 Let Me
2 Every Hour
3 Running Out
Stith, whose previous work includes multiple tracks on Chris Brown’s 2015 album Royalty, is set to join August Alsina’s Don’t Matter tour Thursday night with a performance at the Aztec Theater in San Antonio, Texas. The month-long trek will also see the 22-year-old artist providing support for Alsina in Atlanta, Toronto, New York City, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.
